November 4th, 2008. Enthusiasm gripped the Untied States in midst of the 2008 Presidential Election. More than 130 million voters took part in the decision-making process that would name Illinois State Senator Barack Obama the 44th President of the United States of America. This was an increase of roughly 78 million voters from the previous turnout record, set in the 2004 presidential election.
Obama, who claimed 349 electoral votes and 53% of the popular vote, won out John McCain’s 162 electoral votes and 47% popular vote. The dramatic difference between the numbers was a clear indication that the United States electorate is ready for the Senator’s plans for the future of the country. States that were once red flipped to blue as a historic moment of solidarity unfolded, crossing over race, income, and age divides to elect the next president based on policies—not on personality.
America is Back! enthusiastically refers to the American voters who turned out in record numbers to elect Barack Obama as the 44th President of the United States of America. Reed Burgoyne of Urban Inks and Post Expose serve up the numbers in a bold red and blue on American Apparel’s New Silver shirt.
